According to Wikipedia, "Human intelligence is the intellectual capability of humans, which is marked by complex cognitive feats and high levels of motivation and self-awareness. High intelligence is associated with better outcomes in life." Human intelligence has different perspectives and there can be different scores (quotients) from different perspectives.
Most people know about IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient). According to Wikipedia, "An intelligence quotient (IQ) is a total score derived from a set of standardized tests or subtests designed to assess human intelligence", and "Emotional intelligence (EI) is most often defined as the ability to perceive, use, understand, manage, and handle emotions." IQ is more general while EQ focuses on Emotional Intelligence.
There are some other intelligence and quotients that most people may not know: social intelligence and social quotient, spiritual intelligence and spiritual quotient.
According to Wikipedia, "Social intelligence is the capacity to know oneself and to know others. Social intelligence develops from experience with people and learning from success and failures in social settings. It is more commonly referred to as 'tact', 'common sense', or 'street smarts'."
"Spiritual intelligence is a term used by some philosophers, psychologists, and developmental theorists to indicate spiritual parallels with IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient)."
There are also some mentions of AQ (Adversity Quotient) and CQ (Creativity Quotient). AQ can be used to measure how people are able to handle adverse situations in life. CQ can be used to measure how creative a person is, and the ability to think out of the box.
From all the different perspectives, IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is still the most objective and reliable measurement of human intelligence. You can take as many IQ tests you want from different sources, but the test results will be very close. For all the other tests, you may have very different results, and the results may not be as objective as IQ test.
In order to have an IQ test, Mensa's test should be the best choice. According to Wikipedia, "Mensa is the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. It is a non-profit organisation open to people who score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardised, supervised IQ or other approved intelligence test". If you do the Mensa's IQ test, the result should be very close to the results with other tests.
There is a free IQ test provided by Mensa. All the items consist of entirely visual patterns with progressive difficulty, and do not require specialized knowledge or mathematical skills. This test will take some time and will finish automatically. there are 4 different age range, just select your age range and start the test.
There are also some other intelligence tests for children and students, such as Gifted Test. Gifted Test will allow you to understand child's specific learning needs, including strengths and weaknesses. By identifying giftedness early on, it's more likely that your child's giftedness will be developed into talents. For each country, the Gifted Test may be different. For the US, it's called Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT), while for Canada, it's called Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test (CCAT). Those tests will be done from schools, and will be used to identify gifted students.
A lot of modern researches show that our intelligence is the result of "Nature and Nurture" combination. Beside the link between the genes and IQ score, some variables like certain environment, culture, family, society or cognitions affect our intelligence as we grow up. So by "Learning How to Learn" we can improve our fundamental intelligence aspects such as Reasoning, Problem Solving, and so on, in an ongoing manner.
